How to connect a Facebook Page

Open Settings > Integrations, sign in through Facebook's own window, then choose the Page Munshi publishes to. Munshi asks every time, even for one Page.

Before you start

  • A Facebook Page. Munshi publishes to a Page, never to a personal profile.
  • A Facebook login that is an Admin on the Page. A Page role sets what a person can do on the Page. For Munshi to read the Page's post numbers, the same login needs the Page's Analyze role. The Page roles Munshi needs explains both.

  1. Open Integrations

    Click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, then Integrations. The networks you can connect are listed under Schedule social posts.

  2. Open Facebook

    Click the Facebook tile, which reads Connect. Its card says Facebook's own sign-in opens in a separate window. Under Good to know, it says Munshi publishes to a Facebook Page, because personal profiles can't publish through Facebook's API.

  3. Click Connect Facebook, and sign in

    Facebook's own window opens. Sign in as an Admin of the Page. When Facebook asks which Pages Munshi may use, grant the Page, then approve every permission. The window closes itself when you are done.

  4. Choose a Page

    Back in Munshi, Choose a Page lists the Pages Facebook returned. Munshi publishes to the one you pick. It asks even when there is only one, because Facebook can return a Page you granted before instead of the one you came for.

  5. If the Page you want is missing

    Facebook only offers the Pages you granted last time. Click Cancel and connect again. In the Facebook window, pick Edit previous settings to grant the Page you want.

  6. Connect the Page

    Click Connect beside the Page. Munshi says Account connected. and the card says Connected as the Page.

  7. Check the tile

    Close the card. The Facebook tile shows the Page with a green dot. The count beside Schedule social posts goes up by one.

Where you are now

The Page is connected. Drafts you approve can publish to it. Munshi starts reading the Page's numbers and bringing in its past posts.

If something goes wrong

“That network returned no pages we can post to.”

Check that the login you use manages the Page. Then connect again and grant the Page in Facebook's window. This message means Facebook came back without a Page to publish to.

“Facebook needs more permissions on this Page to publish.”

Disconnect the Page on Integrations and connect again as an Admin of the Page, approving every permission. The login that connected it lacks a role, or a permission was declined in Facebook's window. More about this message.

“Couldn't finish connecting. Please try again.”

Try again. If the Page is already connected to another workspace, including one of your own, disconnect it there first. Then connect it here. This message means Munshi could not add the Page you picked.
