Munshi and Facebook

Munshi Social, the AI content marketing engine for small teams, writes and publishes posts toFacebook from the same weekly plan as every other channel. Page posts are written for Facebook and published on schedule, with or without an image or video.

14-day free trial · No card required · 7-day money-back

A post to your Facebook Page, text alone or with an image or video. It is written for a feed where people read the first two lines and decide.

How the connection works

You sign in to the network in its own window and give Munshi permission to post for you. Munshi never sees your password. You can revoke the connection from the network's own settings at any time.

What comes back

Munshi reads reach, engagement and follower growth for every post it publishes. The numbers are captured daily onto the Results page, next to your other channels. Comments on your posts come into Munshi, and you can reply from there.

Facebook's rules, checked first

  • Posts are kept under 5,000 characters

What to know

  • One Facebook Page per workspace
  • Munshi posts to a Page, which is where Facebook lets a business publish on a schedule

Munshi schedules posts to a Facebook Page as text, photos, a video, a Reel or a Story. Comments on those posts come into Community, where you can reply without opening Facebook. Reach, likes, comments and engagement rate come back on their own.

To connect, you sign in to Facebook as an Admin of the Page and pick it in Choose a Page. Munshi posts to a Page, never to a personal profile. Facebook's own API does not let a profile post through an app, and the Facebook card says so under Good to know.

A post holds up to 5,000 characters of text. It carries up to ten photos or one video.

What you can post to Facebook

Format What goes out
Text on its own Facebook is one of the networks that takes words with nothing attached. Start a Text post and pick Facebook. The Page post goes out as text of up to 5,000 characters.
Photo, or up to ten An Image post carries one photo or several. Facebook takes up to ten, in the order you drag them into. An eleventh is refused on the Facebook tab, with the number to remove.
Video A Video post carries one MP4, MOV or WebM file of up to 1 GB. The video must be the only attachment. Thumbnail under Facebook settings sets the cover shown before it plays.
Reel On a video post, Post type offers Reel beside Post. A Reel needs a video. Pick Reel on an image post and Munshi holds it with “A reel on Facebook needs a video.”
Story On an image post, Post type offers Story beside Post. The same picture can go out as a Page post or as a Story.

How to connect Facebook

  1. Open Integrations

Click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar, then Integrations. Your blog sits under Publish your blog, the networks under Schedule social posts, and Google under Measure results. The Facebook tile reads Connect until a Page is on it.

Munshi's Settings dialog open on Integrations, with blog platforms under Publish your blog and nine network tiles under Schedule social posts.
  2. Read the Facebook card

Click the Facebook tile. The card lists the formats it takes: Page post, Image, Multi-image, Video / Reel and Link post. Under Good to know, it says Munshi publishes to a Facebook Page, because personal profiles cannot publish through the API. Analytics you'll get lists what comes back: reach, impressions, reactions, comments and shares.

The Facebook card in Munshi's Integrations, with its format chips and the Good to know line about publishing to a Facebook Page outlined in red.
  3. Click Connect Facebook and sign in

Click Connect Facebook and Facebook's own window opens. Sign in as an Admin of the Page. When Facebook asks which Pages Munshi may use, grant the Page, then approve every permission. The window closes itself. If nothing opens, your browser blocked it, so allow popups for Munshi and click the button again.

The Connect Facebook button outlined in red on the Facebook card, above the format chips and the Good to know list.
  4. Choose the Page

Back in Munshi, Choose a Page lists the Pages Facebook returned. Munshi publishes to the one you pick. It asks even when there is only one, because Facebook offers the Pages you granted last time, not always the one you came for. If your Page is missing, cancel and connect again. In Facebook's window, pick Edit previous settings and grant it.

The Choose a Page dialog listing the Northloom Page with a Connect button, and a note that Facebook only offers the Pages granted last time.
  5. Check the tile

Click Connect beside the Page. Munshi shows Account connected. and the card reads Connected as the Page. The Facebook tile gets a green dot, and the count beside Schedule social posts goes up by one. Drafts you approve now publish to that Page, and Munshi starts reading its numbers.

The Schedule social posts tiles after connecting: Facebook shows @Northloom and a green dot, five of eight connected, and an Account connected toast.

What does the Facebook tab check?

You write the post once in All platforms, and each network checks its own version. The Facebook tab counts the text against 5,000 characters, offers Post type, and lists the media it will send. If the post breaks a rule, the tab shows a mark and the reason above the buttons. Nothing is scheduled until it passes.

Under Facebook settings, Thumbnail is the cover a video shows before it plays. Destination link takes up to 2,000 characters. Replace for Facebook, beside the media, gives Facebook its own pictures while the other networks keep theirs.

The Facebook tab of the Munshi composer: Post type set to Post, text counted at 69 of 5000, two media items, and Facebook settings below.

How many photos can a Facebook post have?

Up to ten, in the order you set. Upload several pictures to an image post and they appear in a numbered row under Images, with a plus tile to add more. Drag a picture to change the order Facebook shows them in. An eleventh is refused before anything is scheduled, with “Facebook takes up to 10 media items. Remove 2.”

The same pictures can go to Instagram and LinkedIn in the same post. Instagram takes up to ten and LinkedIn up to twenty, so one upload covers all three.

The Images row of the Munshi composer: two photos numbered one and two, a plus tile, and an Optimize per platform button above.

One caption, rewritten for each network

Optimize per platform takes the caption you typed once and writes a version for each network you picked. Each version fits that network's limit: Facebook 5,000 characters, LinkedIn 3,000, Instagram and TikTok 2,200, Threads and Pinterest 500, and Bluesky 300. Edit the Facebook version by hand and only Facebook changes.

A Facebook post that runs over the limit is not sent. The tab says how far over it is, with Fix in tab beside the reason.

Reply to Facebook comments in Community

Facebook is one of the networks you can answer from Munshi. Comments on your Page's recent posts arrive in Community. The number waiting on a reply sits under the title, and picking a channel above the list shows only its comments. Type in Reply publicly… and click Reply. The reply goes live on Facebook and the comment is filed as Replied.

Munshi reads your 60 most recent tracked posts. It reads them again when you open Community and the last read is more than 15 minutes old. A workspace sends up to 20 replies an hour.

Munshi's Community page: eight comments from Instagram, YouTube, Threads and LinkedIn in one list, five waiting on a reply, one open beside its post.

Where do Facebook results show up?

Results come back on their own. A post that has gone out appears under Posted on the Social page straight away, marked just now. A line says its numbers land after the first read. Reach, likes, comments and engagement rate then fill in, and each post shows how it compares with your usual.

Reading a Page's post numbers needs a separate Facebook permission from posting. The person who connected the Page needs the Page's Analyze role. Without it, Results shows that Facebook needs more permissions to read post metrics. Posting keeps working.

The Posted tab of Munshi's Social page: the new Facebook post on top marked just now, older posts showing reach, likes and engagement rate.

How many Facebook posts can Munshi send a day?

Up to 100 a day on Facebook, and 25 an hour to any one account. Networks read a burst of posts as spam, so Munshi limits how fast one account posts. Both limits run on the UTC clock, and a post that fails does not count.

A post that hits the limit is not sent. It waits under Drafts on the Social page, marked as failed, with the reason and Retry now on its card. This limit is separate from your plan's monthly allowance of posts, which has its own message.

Munshi and Facebook, answered

Does Munshi work with Facebook?

Yes. A post to your Facebook Page, text alone or with an image or video. It is written for a feed where people read the first two lines and decide.

Can Munshi post to a Facebook Page automatically?

Yes. An approved post goes out at its scheduled time, whether or not you are online. It can be text, photos, a video, a Reel or a Story. Nothing publishes before you approve it.

Can Munshi post to a personal Facebook profile?

No. Facebook's API does not let a personal profile publish through an app, so Munshi publishes to a Page. The Facebook card says this before you connect.

What Facebook Page role do I need?

Admin. Editor is not enough to publish. Reading the Page's post numbers also needs the Page's Analyze role for the same person. Facebook checks both roles, not Munshi.

How long can a Facebook post be in Munshi?

Up to 5,000 characters. That is the most of any network Munshi publishes to, the same as YouTube's description limit. The Facebook tab counts as you type, and nothing is scheduled until the text fits.

Can I schedule Facebook Reels and Stories?

Yes. In the Facebook tab, Post type offers Reel on a video post and Story on an image post, beside Post. A Reel needs a video, so the composer refuses Reel on an image post.

Can I reply to Facebook comments from Munshi?

Yes. Comments on your Page's recent posts come into Community, where you can reply publicly and mark a comment resolved. A workspace can send 20 replies an hour. Taking a comment down works on Instagram and Threads only, where the red button reads Delete and Hide.

Can I connect two Facebook Pages?

No, not in one workspace. A workspace publishes to one Facebook Page, and connecting a second Page replaces the first. The Studio plan covers three brands, each with its own connected accounts and calendar, so a second Page belongs to a second brand.

When Facebook says no

These are the messages people see most often, and what each one means.

“Facebook needs more permissions on this Page to publish.”

The login that connected the Page lacks a role, or a permission was declined in Facebook's window. Open Integrations and click Disconnect on the Facebook card. Connect again as an Admin of the Page, not an Editor, and approve every permission. Then find the failed post under Drafts on Social and click Retry now.

“Facebook needs more permissions on this Page to read its post metrics (this is separate from posting permission).”

The person who connected the Page does not hold the Page's Analyze role, so Facebook will not report post numbers. Posting can still work. The message shows on Results, in a Facebook post's detail under By account. Give that profile the Analyze role in Facebook, then reconnect.

“That network returned no pages we can post to.”

Facebook came back with nothing to publish to. Check that your login manages the Page. Then connect again and grant the Page in Facebook's window.

The Page I want is not in the list

Facebook only offers the Pages you granted on an earlier connect. Click Cancel and connect again. In the Facebook window, pick Edit previous settings and grant the Page you want.

“Facebook takes up to 10 media items. Remove 2.”

The post holds more than ten pictures. Remove the extras with the cross on their thumbnails in the All platforms tab. Or use Replace for Facebook in the Facebook tab to give Facebook its own shorter set.

“Couldn't finish connecting. Please try again.”

Munshi could not add the Page you picked, so try again. If the Page is already connected to another workspace, even one of your own, disconnect it there first. Then connect it here.
