Refund Policy

Last updated: July 28, 2026

This Refund Policy explains when Munshi ("we", "us") refunds a payment, how to ask for one, and how long it takes. It forms part of our Terms of Service; where the two differ on refunds, this policy governs.

At a glance

  • Cancel any time. You keep access until the end of the period you have already paid for.
  • 7‑day money‑back on your first payment. If Munshi isn't right for you, tell us within 7 days of your first charge and we refund it in full.
  • Renewals are non‑refundable, and we don't refund part of a month.
  • Billing mistakes are always refunded: duplicate charges, wrong amounts, and charges after cancellation, with no time limit.
  • Your legal rights still apply. Nothing here takes away a refund the law gives you.

1. How billing works

Paid plans are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor (Paddle). Each plan includes a fixed monthly allowance; there is no usage‑based overage billing: when an allowance is reached, generation pauses until the next cycle or you upgrade. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until you cancel.

2. Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account, or by emailing info@munshi.social from your account address. Cancellation stops the next renewal; it is not a refund request. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not charge a cancellation fee.

You own the content Munshi generates for you. Export anything you want to keep before your access ends; see our Privacy Policy for how data is deleted after that.

3. The 7‑day money‑back window

If you are unhappy with Munshi, email us within 7 days of your first paid charge and we will refund that charge in full, no questions asked. You don't have to explain why. Your subscription ends when the refund is issued and access stops at that point.

This window applies once, and only to a first payment:

  • One refund per customer and per workspace. Cancelling and signing up again does not open a new window.
  • It does not reset when you change plans: upgrading from Founding to Studio does not start a new 7 days.
  • It covers the subscription fee only, not any separate one‑off service purchased alongside it.
  • We may decline it where the account has been used abusively or in breach of the Terms.

4. Renewals and part‑months

After the first‑payment window, renewal charges are non‑refundable and we do not issue partial‑period refunds. Cancelling mid‑month does not produce a credit for the days you didn't use, because you keep access for all of them.

If a renewal caught you out (you meant to cancel and haven't used the new period), email us. We will look at it, and in practice we would rather refund an unused month than keep money you didn't intend to spend. That is a discretionary courtesy rather than an entitlement.

5. Billing errors and duplicate charges

Some charges are simply wrong, and we refund those in full whenever you spot them. There is no time limit and no discretion involved:

  • you were charged twice for the same period;
  • you were charged the wrong amount, or for a plan you didn't select;
  • you were charged after cancelling; or
  • the charge came from a fault in our billing.

6. Extended outages

If the Service is unavailable for a sustained period through our fault and that materially prevented you using your plan, tell us and we will issue a service credit or a pro‑rata refund for the affected time. We assess this case by case; it does not cover outages at connected third‑party platforms, or issues caused by your own account, credentials, or configuration.

7. Plan changes

Upgrades take effect immediately and our payment processor charges the difference for the remainder of the current cycle. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal so you keep the higher allowance you have already paid for; we do not refund the difference for the current period.

8. Trials and discounts

Any free trial is provided as described at sign‑up. You are not charged until a trial converts, so cancelling before it converts means there is nothing to refund. Where a payment was discounted, a refund returns the amount actually paid, not the list price.

9. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits refund rights you have under applicable consumer law. If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a 14‑day right to withdraw from a distance contract; by starting the Service immediately you agree we may begin performance within that period, and we may deduct a proportionate amount for what you used before withdrawing. Where a statutory right is more generous than this policy, the statutory right applies.

10. Chargebacks

Please contact us before raising a dispute with your bank or card issuer. Almost everything is faster to fix directly, and we will tell you honestly if a refund is due. A chargeback raised without contacting us may result in the workspace being suspended until the dispute is resolved.

11. How to request a refund

Email info@munshi.social from your account email address with:

  • the workspace name;
  • the date and amount of the charge; and
  • one line on what happened (helpful, but not required for the 7‑day window).

We reply within 2 business days. Approved refunds go back to the original payment method (we cannot refund to a different card or account) and typically appear within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank. You will get a confirmation from Paddle when the refund is issued.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The version in force when you were charged is the one that applies to that charge, and we will take reasonable steps to tell you about material changes.
