“SEO score must reach” the minimum to publish
An article publishes only once its SEO score reaches 60 out of 100. Raise it by filling in the meta title, description, keyword, slug and canonical URL.
The article's SEO score is under 60 out of 100, and an article publishes only at 60 or more. Fill in the SEO fields in the article's panel on Blog, under Published. Make sure the target keyword appears in the article. The score updates as you type.
Where you see it
Open the article's row under Blog, Published. Below the SEO fields, the checks line shows SEO score, the score out of 100, and (min 60 to publish). Under 60, Publish now and Schedule… stay greyed out, with SEO score must reach 60 beside them. The closed row shows the score too, as SEO and a number.
This line appears only once a blog is connected and the article is written. Until then, Munshi names those problems first.
How the score adds up
- Meta title: 20 points at 30 to 60 characters, 10 at any other length.
- Meta description: 20 points at 70 to 160 characters, 10 at any other length.
- Target keyword: 15 points when it is filled in.
- Slug: 15 points when it is filled in.
- Canonical URL: 15 points when it is filled in.
- The keyword in the article: 15 more points when the target keyword appears in the article's text. The checks line then shows Keyword in draft: yes.
Grey placeholder text in a field scores nothing. Only what you type counts. Readability sits on the same line but does not change the score.
Quick ways to 60
- A meta title and a meta description in range, plus a target keyword and a slug: 70.
- A target keyword that appears in the article, a slug and a canonical URL: 60.
If Keyword in draft says no, click Open in editor. Work the keyword into the article exactly as you typed it.
If something goes wrong
The score is 60 or more and the buttons are still grey
Read the reason beside the buttons. Connect a website first means no blog is connected. Finish writing first means the article is not finished yet.
“Keyword in draft: no”, but the keyword is in the article
Use the target keyword in the article exactly as you typed it in the field. The check ignores capital letters. A plural, another word order or an extra word in between does not match.
