A file Munshi will not take

• Images: JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF.
• Videos: MP4, MOV and WebM.
• PDFs, on LinkedIn only. A PDF becomes a document post and must be the only file on it.
• Up to 1 GB a file, and up to 20 files on one post.
• An Image post takes images, a Video post takes one video, and a thumbnail takes one image.

Each network also has its own limit on files per post, such as 4 on Bluesky and 10 on Instagram. Caption and media limits lists every network.

Most refusals start with the file's name, then the reason.

• “use a JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF image, or an MP4/MOV/WebM video.” Munshi does not take this type of file. In an Image post, the reason reads: “an image post takes JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF images.” In a Video post, it reads: “a video post takes an MP4, MOV or WebM video.” Save or export the file as one of those types, then add it again.
• “files can be up to 1 GB.” The file is over 1 GB. Compress or shorten it. Munshi measures the file again once it arrives. If it turns out bigger, Munshi refuses it with: “Files can be up to 1 GB.”
• “That file doesn't match its declared type.” The contents do not match the file's name, such as a HEIC photo renamed to .jpg. Munshi discards the upload. Export the file again as a real JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, MP4, MOV or WebM.
• “That file is empty.” The file has no content. Export it again from the original.
• “Too many uploads this hour. Try again in a bit.” The workspace has uploaded 120 files in the last hour. Every picture in a carousel counts, and so does each blog cover you attach. Wait a little, then upload again.
• “The upload didn't go through. Try again.” The upload stopped before it finished. Check your connection and upload again. The same fix works for “The upload couldn't be verified. Try again.”
• “One file is the limit here, so only the first was taken.” That spot takes only one file, such as a thumbnail or a Video post.

Some limits belong to one network, and Munshi checks them when the post is sent. The post is then marked Failed in Social. Click Edit draft on its card to open it and swap the file.

• Facebook, Instagram and Threads can refuse a WebM video. The message names the network, such as “Facebook needs an MP4 or MOV video”. Convert the video to MP4 or MOV and add it again.
• A video pin on Pinterest can be up to 200 MB. A bigger one fails with “Could not read the video to upload: That file is too large to fetch.”
