Why a number here differs from the network's own

Munshi reads each network on a schedule and may use a different time window or add up your posts. So a figure can differ from the network's own app.

A number in Munshi can differ from the network's app for three reasons. Munshi may read a different time window, count from your posts instead, or have read the network before it changed. Every number on Results says where it came from and what window it covers.

Munshi reads the networks on a schedule

Networks do not send their numbers to Munshi as they change. Munshi reads each connected account in the background and keeps what it read. So a post still collecting likes can show more on the network's app than on Results, until the next reading.

When a card has no number, it says why instead of showing a zero. It reads Reconnect to read, Didn't answer, Nothing posted in 30 days on a 30-day range, or Not reported.

Each number names its source

On the Social tab of Results, each network's card says where its number came from. There are three kinds:

  • The network's own figure. The card says, for example, “Instagram, its own 30-day window” or “YouTube, lifetime”. This is what the network reported for that window. It may not be the window its app is showing you.
  • Counted from your posts. The card says, for example, “From your posts, last 30 days”. Munshi added up the posts it holds for the range, so posts it does not track are left out. Reach added up across posts is also not the same as the reach a network reports for the whole account.
  • Measured by Munshi. Munshi compared its own readings over time. The number reaches back only as far as Munshi's first reading.

What each network reports

  • Instagram keeps account windows of 7 and 30 days only. On a longer range the card shows the 30-day figure and says so.
  • Facebook reports no reach or impressions for single Page posts. Without Page-level reach, the card counts reactions, comments and shares from your posts.
  • YouTube channel views are a lifetime total, with no earlier period to compare against.
  • TikTok reports only likes for the account, so views are counted from your posts in the range.
  • Pinterest is the one network with a real day-by-day series, so its numbers follow the range you pick.
  • LinkedIn: Munshi works out the engagement rate itself, because LinkedIn's own rate counts clicks.
  • Threads reports nothing for the account, so its rate comes from views on your posts.
  • Bluesky publishes no engagement numbers, so its card shows audience growth measured by Munshi.

Charts plot readings, not days

Except on Pinterest, a chart has one point for each day Munshi took a reading. Each point is the window total the network returned at that moment, not that day's own number. So it will not line up with a day-by-day chart in the network's app.

Interactions adds up likes, comments, shares, saves, pin clicks and outbound clicks. Where a network sends its own total, as Instagram does, Munshi uses that total instead.

If something goes wrong

A card says “Reconnect to read”

Reconnect the network from Settings, Integrations. The network signed Munshi out, so nothing new can be read from that account. Reconnecting starts a fresh reading.

Older posts are missing from a total

Import your past posts to bring earlier ones in. Numbers counted from your posts only include posts Munshi holds.
