Munshi vs Blotato

Munshi Social, the AI content marketing engine for small teams, side by side with Blotato. Blotato is an AI content studio and a hosted social media API in one. Creators use its web app to turn videos, articles and PDFs into posts, AI images and AI video. Builders drive the same engine from Claude, n8n or Make through its API and MCP server, and it publishes to nine social networks on a flat monthly plan.

14-day free trial · No card required · 7-day money-back

Pick Blotato if you run many accounts, post to X, make AI video, or drive social from an automation: it does all four, and Munshi does none of them today. Pick Munshi if you want a blog as well as social, and you want the week planned and written without building a workflow. Both tools write posts with AI and publish them to most of the same networks. Blotato turns the sources you bring into posts, images and video for up to 20 accounts on its $29 Starter plan, with an API and MCP server included. Munshi starts from a keyword strategy you approve and writes 15 articles and up to 1,000 posts a month into your CMS and 8 networks, for $15 a month with a 14-day trial and no card. Munshi holds one account per network and has no public API yet, so for builders and multi-account creators it is the narrower tool.

The rows above, as screens

A comparison table is a set of claims, so here are four screens from the app itself. They show who writes the content, how one idea reaches each network, where the week sits, and what comes back afterwards.

The Munshi article writer with ten steps ticked, SEO Optimization Pass 59, GEO Citability Pass 95, and the Featured Image step open.
Who writes it: ten steps you can read one at a time, two of them scores out of 100.
The Munshi composer posting to LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook, with the LinkedIn tab open, its own caption, and a Use shared text button.
One post gets a tab for each network you picked. Reword the LinkedIn tab and Munshi marks it customized. One button puts the shared text back.
The Munshi calendar for September 2026, with posts and articles on most days, a filter for each channel and a colour key.
Where the week lives: the blog and every connected channel on one month, colour-coded by state.
Munshi Results, growth per channel: Instagram reached 8,184, LinkedIn engagement rate 5.8%, Facebook 516 people reached, TikTok 1,784 views, Pinterest and YouTube Not reported.
What comes back: one card per network, in the measure that network reports. Each card shows when it was read, and says Not reported where the network gives nothing.

What a week looks like when nobody has to drive the agent

One sitting clears the batch, checks the blog, fills the social week, answers comments and reads the results. It runs 50 seconds and was recorded in the real app. The written steps are in the guide, and the film is also on YouTube.

The differences that decide it

Every comparison on this site answers the rows above. These rows matter only when two tools are this close.

Munshi Blotato
Accounts per network One per workspace: one Instagram, one TikTok, one Facebook Page, one LinkedIn profile or Company Page. A second account on the same network needs a second workspace, which means Studio. As many as your total allows. Starter holds 20 accounts across all networks, Creator 40 and Agency 100, in any mix. Three TikTok accounts and four Facebook Pages fit on Starter. This is Blotato's clearest advantage over Munshi.
Who decides what to post Munshi does, and you approve it. It builds a keyword map from your company profile and proposes a weekly plan of articles and posts. You or your agent do. You add sources, pick templates and prompt the AI agent, or an automation in n8n, Make or Claude sends the brief. Blotato ships viral templates, hook prompts and an AI coach to help.
Who writes the content Munshi writes the articles first, then turns each one into posts shaped for every network you connected. They wait in a weekly batch. Blotato's AI writes posts from the context you give it, and the writing is unlimited on every plan. You choose the source and start each run.
Repurposing from your own material Munshi turns its own articles into posts for each network. It can import your past posts, but it does not read a YouTube video, a podcast or a PDF. Its strongest writing feature. Add a YouTube or TikTok link and it pulls the transcript (English captions only). It also reads articles, PDFs, audio and pasted text, or researches a topic with Perplexity. Context stays in your browser unless you save it to your Sources library.
AI images and video Not offered. Article covers are drawn from your brand kit or uploaded, and any video you post is one you upload. Included, and the reason credits exist. It makes AI images, AI video, carousels and ElevenLabs voiceovers. Credits pay for the images and video, and voiceovers use none.
How the AI is metered By finished output: 15 articles and 1,000 posts a month on Founding. There is no credit balance, and there is also no image or video generation to meter. Writing is not metered. Credits are spent only on AI images and video: 1,250 a month on Starter, 5,000 on Creator and 28,000 on Agency. They roll over month to month, and extra credits cost $6 per 1,000.
Blog articles 15 a month on Founding, written for you into WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Framer, or Sanity. Ghost, Webflow, and Framer get them as drafts you publish from your own dashboard. WordPress gets drafts too, except scheduled articles, which go live at their slot. Sanity goes live on schedule. Not part of the product. Blotato's rate card calls its list of nine social networks exhaustive, and no CMS is on it.
Social networks 8: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, YouTube, Bluesky. X is coming soon and cannot be connected yet. 9: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and YouTube. The same set as Munshi, plus X.
API, MCP and automation No public API yet. An agent API and MCP server exist only as a staff preview, so there is nothing to plug into n8n, Make or Claude today. Included on every paid plan: a REST API, an MCP server with 36 tools, and official n8n and Make nodes. The API is not available during the trial, and generating a key ends the trial and starts billing.
Seats and roles Two per workspace, included. The only roles are owner and member. One user per account. Blotato's own help page says team access is not live yet. You share your login email and emailed code, so there are no separate logins, roles or audit trail.
Approval workflow One weekly batch you clear in one sitting. Nothing unapproved publishes. None documented. An automation can publish straight through, which is the point for many of its users.
Comments and direct messages Comments come in from Instagram, Facebook, Threads, YouTube, Bluesky and a LinkedIn Page, and you reply from Munshi on four of those. There are no direct messages. Comments and direct messages on Instagram and Facebook, plus DM automations that reply for you. Each plan caps the people you reach a month: 1,000 on Starter, 6,000 on Creator and 15,000 on Agency.
Analytics Search Console, Google Analytics and every connected network, LinkedIn included, on one Results page. Numbers are captured daily, with a flag when a connection breaks. Engagement for posts published through Blotato on eight networks. LinkedIn returns no metrics yet. Starter refreshes each post 4 times over 30 days, and Agency 20 times over 90 days. Nothing from your website.
Free trial and billing 14 days, 3 articles and 50 posts, no card. Then $15 a month or $144 a year through Paddle, cancel any time, with 7-day money back on a first payment. 7 days, card required, 60 AI credits. The card is charged when the trial ends unless you cancel first. Billing runs through Stripe, and yearly billing is chosen in the billing portal, not on the pricing page.
Track record Munshi launched in 2026. The team is small and the history is short, and we would rather you knew that. Blotato's pricing page says more than 10,000 operators use it, and it publishes a long list of creator case studies.

Blotato plans in full

Plan Monthly Accounts, all networks AI credits a month Queued posts Contacts reached a month Largest upload

Creator$97/mo405,0001,0006,0001 GB
Agency$499/mo10028,0003,00015,0001 GB

Yearly billing pays for 10 months and gets 12, and it is chosen in the billing portal. Blotato does not print yearly prices, so $290 a year for Starter is our arithmetic from that rule. There is no free plan and no per-post fee. Credits pay only for AI images and video, roll over month to month, and extra credits cost $6 per 1,000. Accounts are a total across all nine networks, and each Facebook Page and LinkedIn Company Page counts as one. Queued posts are posts scheduled at any one time. Contacts are people you message or reply to in a month. Every plan includes the API, the MCP server and the n8n and Make nodes. Creator adds faster video processing, and Agency adds dedicated video processing and a support channel. More than 100 accounts is priced in the support chat. Blotato also caps posting: on Starter, 3 TikTok accounts with 10 posts each per 24 hours and 10 YouTube uploads per channel a day. On every plan, 50 Instagram posts a day per account and 10 Pinterest pins a day per account.

Founding pricing is locked for life on the plan and billing cycle you join. Later price rises apply only to new members. Every tier has two seats per workspace. Munshi generates no AI images or video, which is why there are no credits. Munshi also keeps each account below the rate networks treat as spam. That means at most 25 posts an hour to any one account. The daily cap is 100 on Instagram and Facebook, 25 on Pinterest and 50 on the rest.

Three situations, with the arithmetic

These are list prices, multiplied out. Do the same sum for your own team before you believe either of us.

A creator with several accounts and an automation

Three TikTok accounts, two Instagram profiles, a YouTube channel and X, fed by an n8n workflow that posts AI Reels.

Blotato $29/mo Starter holds all seven accounts with 13 to spare, includes X, the n8n node and the API, and gives 1,250 credits a month for the AI video. If the video runs past that, extra credits cost $6 per 1,000.
Munshi Does not fit A Munshi workspace holds one TikTok and one Instagram, X cannot be connected yet, there is no public API for n8n, and Munshi makes no AI video.

This is Blotato's home ground, and Munshi is the wrong tool here at any price. The only question is whether 1,250 credits covers the video you make.

A small business that wants a blog and social

One brand on seven networks, nobody whose job is content, and a website that has not had a new article in months.

Blotato $29/mo Starter covers the seven accounts and writes posts from whatever you feed it. Someone still has to choose the sources each week, and the blog is not covered at any price.
Munshi $15/mo Founding plans the week from a keyword map, writes 15 articles into your CMS and up to 1,000 posts from them, and waits for one weekly approval.

Munshi costs about half as much here and covers the blog. Blotato is still the one to pick if short video is how this business sells, because Munshi makes none.

A freelancer with three clients

Three brands, each on the same eight networks with one account per network, and a second person who helps review.

Blotato $97/mo Twenty-four accounts is more than Starter's 20, so this needs Creator, with 40 accounts and 5,000 credits. There is one login, so the helper signs in with your code.
Munshi $29/mo Studio runs three brands, each with its own accounts, calendar and results, 45 articles and 3,000 posts pooled, and two seats.

Munshi is under a third of the price and writes the blogs too. It only works while each client has one account per network. A client with two Instagram profiles, or one that needs X, tips this back to Blotato.

Pick Blotato if…

  • You run several accounts on one network, such as three TikTok accounts or a Facebook Page per client, and 20 accounts in any mix fits your work
  • You drive social from n8n, Make, Claude or Claude Code and want a hosted API and MCP server that publishes to nine networks
  • You want AI images, AI video and voiceovers made in the same tool that posts them
  • You post to X, which Munshi cannot connect yet
  • You repurpose long material, turning YouTube videos, podcasts, PDFs and articles into posts
  • You answer Instagram and Facebook direct messages, or want DM automations on your comments

Pick Munshi if…

  • You want blog articles written and published to your CMS (the tool your blog runs on), which Blotato does not do at any price
  • You want the week planned for you from a keyword strategy, not an agent waiting for you to bring sources
  • You want to try it for 14 days with no card on file
  • You want one weekly batch to approve, with nothing published until you say yes
  • You want search numbers, site visits and social numbers on one page, LinkedIn included
  • Two people need their own logins, not one shared sign-in code

Where each one falls down

A comparison written by one of the two tools is worth reading only if it is willing to lose a row. Here are both lists.

What reviewers flag about Blotato

  • Several reviewers say they were charged when the trial ended or sooner, and found cancelling hard. The trial needs a card, and Blotato's own help page warns that generating an API key ends the trial at once.
  • Reviewers who make video say the credits go fast. One says a single two-minute vertical video used up the monthly allowance.
  • Support runs mostly through an AI chat assistant, and several reviewers say they could not reach a person when a billing problem came up.
  • One reviewer says it works more as a publishing tool than a content creator, with a learning curve and no clear workflow from idea to finished post.
  • Each account has one user. Teammates sign in with your login code, with no separate logins, roles or audit trail, and context you add stays in one browser unless you save it.

What we will tell you about Munshi

  • One account per network per workspace. Three TikTok accounts or four Facebook Pages do not fit, while Blotato holds 20 accounts in any mix on Starter.
  • No public API yet. An agent API and MCP server exist only as a staff preview, so nothing plugs into n8n, Make or Claude today.
  • No AI images or video. Covers come from your brand kit or your upload, and videos are ones you upload.
  • X cannot be connected yet. There are no direct messages, and replies work on four of the six networks that bring comments in.
  • Two seats and no role hierarchy, no mobile app, and a short track record: a small team launched Munshi in 2026.

Munshi and Blotato, answered

How much does Blotato cost?

Starter is $29 a month for 20 connected accounts and 1,250 AI credits. Creator is $97 a month for 40 accounts and 5,000 credits, and Agency is $499 a month for 100 accounts and 28,000 credits. Yearly billing pays for 10 months and gets 12, chosen in the billing portal rather than on the pricing page. Extra credits cost $6 per 1,000. Prices checked on blotato.com/pricing on 30 September 2026.

Does Blotato have a free plan or a free trial?

There is no free plan. Every plan has a 7-day free trial, which needs a card and charges it when the trial ends unless you cancel first. The trial includes 60 AI credits and excludes the API and MCP server, and generating an API key ends the trial and starts the paid plan. Munshi's trial runs 14 days with 3 articles and 50 posts, and asks for no card.

Is Blotato's 20-account limit per network or in total?

In total. Starter's 20 accounts are counted across all nine networks, in any mix, so ten Instagram profiles and ten TikTok accounts is a valid setup. Each Facebook Page and each LinkedIn Company Page counts as one account. Munshi works the other way: a workspace holds one account per network, 8 in all, and a second account on the same network needs a second workspace.

What are Blotato's AI credits spent on?

Only AI image and AI video generation. Blotato does not charge credits for writing, turning your content into posts, scheduling, publishing, API calls, ElevenLabs voiceovers or its AI coach. Credits roll over month to month while you stay subscribed. Munshi has no credits at all, because it generates no images or video, and its limit is finished output: 15 articles and 1,000 posts a month.

Can Blotato publish blog articles to my website?

No. Blotato publishes to nine social networks, and its own rate card says that list is exhaustive. It can read an article as a source and turn it into posts, but it never writes or publishes one. Munshi writes 15 articles a month into WordPress, Ghost, Webflow, Framer, or Sanity on the base plan.

Which networks does Blotato post to?

Nine: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, X, Threads, Bluesky, Pinterest and YouTube. Munshi connects 8: Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, Pinterest, Threads, YouTube and Bluesky. The only difference is X, which Blotato posts to and Munshi cannot connect yet.

Does Blotato have an API and an MCP server? Does Munshi?

Blotato does, on every paid plan: a REST API, an MCP server with 36 tools, and official n8n and Make nodes. It is built first for people who run social from Claude, AI agents and automations. Munshi has no public API yet. An agent API and MCP server exist only as a staff preview, so if an automation is how you work, Blotato is the better choice today.

Is Blotato good for agencies?

For volume, yes. Agency holds 100 accounts in any mix for $499 a month, and Creator holds 40 for $97. What it lacks is team structure: one user per account and no approval step, so staff share one login. Munshi's Studio runs three brands with two seats for $29 a month and writes their blogs too, but only one account per network per brand.

Can a team share one Blotato account?

Only by sharing a login. Blotato's help centre says native team access is not live yet and has no firm date. A teammate signs in with your email and the code sent to it, and sees everything you see. Munshi gives each workspace two seats with separate logins, with owner and member as the only roles.

Does Munshi make AI videos or images like Blotato?

No. Munshi writes articles and posts. Article covers are drawn from your brand kit or uploaded, and any video you post is one you upload. If AI video is a large part of why you use Blotato, Munshi does not replace that part.

Can I use Blotato and Munshi together?

Yes, if you split the accounts between them. Munshi can run the blog and one account per network from a weekly plan, while Blotato handles X, your extra accounts or your AI video. Avoid pointing both at the same account, or you will have two queues posting to one profile and two sets of numbers to reconcile.

How do I move from Blotato to Munshi?

Download any videos or images you made before you cancel, because a cancelled Blotato account locks the dashboard and stops its scheduled posts. Anything already published stays on your own accounts. Then connect one account per network to Munshi, describe your business and approve a first strategy, which takes about an afternoon. Munshi can also import your past posts so the calendar is not empty on day one.
